Four Fund Racer started on Sunday (12/09/2010) in Kirchheim cool at first, later pleasantly warm temperatures and very good weather during Albtraufmarathon. Rainer chose the large round 96 km (2100 Hm) and started at 8:00 clock. Sorry, could the organizers, participants can always just run in 30 blocks. Due to the shorter distance (63 km, 1200 Hm) and the high start numbers Jan and I had to wait until about 8:45 clock, we were allowed to start. Hilde was late.
Kirchheim After we left, the line ran on well with most Albtrauf moving gravel and dirt roads direction. Of Beuren, we went out in a lengthy and sometimes quite steep ascent to the ruins Hohenneuffen. Finally now all was warm. After a sometimes steep descent in Lenningen the aid station was reached. Now it was again steeply uphill to the track pitch on the saddle bow. Rainer led the great round 2 more times while we biked up the Alps with the smaller round back to Kirchheim.
After just over 3 hours, I arrived at the finish. There, I met Jan, who had arrived about 15 minutes before me.
All in all it was a nice mountain bike tour, not as hectic as in many marathons, which are advertised as a race. The route was technically more simple, physical fitness through the sometimes steep climbs but already demanding.
